Born and raised in Rockaway, Kilgallon (1891-1972)
moved to Ireland to attend Saint Enda's School,
where he was a student of Patrick Pearse.
Kilgallon took part in the the 1916 Easter Uprising
and spent time as a captive in Frongoch, Wales.
Eventually, he returned home and settled in Rockaway.
